Join us to a trip to Seurasaari Island, a popular outdoor recreation park in Helsinki! On the island, you can find good walking paths, beaches, kiosks and cafes, for example. During the trip, we will explore the island, have a picnic and enjoy the day together! Remember to bring some snacks with you!
If the weather isn’t good, we will visit the Tram Museum in Helsinki.
We will leave for the trip together from Familia office at 11.00 am.
The participant needs to pay his/her own travel costs.

Familia ry is looking for a project worker for the project Partner’s Path - Peer Support for the Immigrant Partners of Multicultural Families on the Path to Employment. The main objective of the project is to improve the employability, integration and well-being of immigrants who have moved to Finland as partners and spouses. The project takes into account the role of the Finnish partner or spouse in improving the employability of the partner with immigrant background, and the need of the Finnish partner for information and peer support. The two-year project is funded by STEA (former RAY).
The project worker’s tasks include the coordination of volunteering within the project, and the guidance of the project’s participants to different employment services. The tasks also include communication and content production for the project. The tasks may be adjusted to the skills and interests of the project worker.
We expect an active and flexible attitude towards work, good skills in interaction and cooperation, organisational skills, and fluent oral and written communication skills. Additionally, we expect a knowledge of volunteering and peer support activities, and a suitable educational background or studies. The position requires fluent oral and written skills in either Finnish or English, and at least a CEFR A2 level of skills in the other language (Finnish or English), as well as readiness to learn more. Other language skills are considered an advantage.
We consider an advantage experience in intercultural families. Also experience and knowledge in immigration and immigrant employment are considered an advantage.
Familia offers the project worker an active, multicultural working environment, and a chance to participate in the planning and implementation of the project from the beginning. The position is part-time (approximately 20 h / week), and suitable for a student, e.g. The terms and conditions of employment and the salary are defined by the collective agreement for the social welfare organisations sector, and the demand level of the position is level 3. We hope that the project worker will be able to commit to the project for its entire duration till spring 2019. The position is temporary, and will start as agreed, as soon as possible.

For Spanish speaking kids in 3v-8v aprox. Kids come accompanied of their Spanish speaking mother, father or responsible adult.
In the Spanish family club, we play, learn lots of new things, do handcraft and read storybooks. The purpose is provide kids the opportunity of using their Spanish mother language in other environments.

You’ll learn how to take care of your home and children, prepare nutritious Finnish food and other things that will make your life in Finland easier. At the same time, you’ll also learn some Finnish language. You can bring your child with you. Maximum 10 participants.
